I got mine a couple of month ago and am simply back from ten days in Italy, where I used this extensively.
Sharp, smart flare management, several fun. The previous reviewer says one thing regarding the AF being slow-- that, while true, is simply [*fr1] the story. you are nearly always getting to be focusing at or close to infinity, therefore it's really terribly rare to own to attend. as a result of this lens has such wide depth of field, I really typically keep it on manual focus and leave it close to infinity.
Actually, the largest challenge with this lens is composition-- it is surprisingly arduous to search out a scene with fascinating things in all directions. That said, this lens is *excellent* for within buildings and crowded town streets. bear in mind that outdoors, finding the right exposure is troublesome for variety of reasons. I did considerably higher in M (manual) mode than my camera was doing in an exceedingly (aperture) mode. (reasons for problem embrace the dark corners within the frame that destroy the camera's metering in some modes, and therefore the likelihood that the sun are within the frame and/or there'll be each terribly light-weight and really dark areas within the frame)
This lens is superb for creating spherical panoramas, and for realllllly wide angle shots (I'm de-fishing lots of my footage with software).
