Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor Lens Review

I was hesitant to move forward in the digital domain, because any lens wide enough to be even broader in the DX sensor can be priced in the area of thousands of dollars. As an advanced amateur, willing to spend money, but not in a position to have an economic return on investment, more expensive than a single paycheck is beyond me.

But bit the bullet and bought the amazing Nikon D70. Lo, and behold, Nikon actually did not disappoint his customers (like many other companies that make promises that never come to fruition). The new line of DX lenses are amazing.

In my opinion the sexiest of all new DX Nikkor lenses is 10.5 mm Fisheye (not the most useful, even the strongest of the series lenses, but certainly the most interesting, and certainly the least expected ). With its 180% field of view, and dramaticly effect cartoon, I'm sure many Nikon shooters, including myself will have a lot of fun, and get plenty of laughs at some of the large paintings going to take with this affordable piece of glass.

Highly recommended.

I feel the need to add one final comment to this review. At the time of this writing, two other reviews preceded mine. Both require a different amount of disagreement. For the first gentleman who was disappointed by the large number of pincushining, the question must be asked what he thought was a fish-eye lens. This is not simply a target of 10.5 mm. This is a fisheye lens. Its supposed to have that effect. His criticism was not, obviously, because I knew what was going to buy, and giving a piece of equipment of a rating of 2.5, it does not know what your buying is the height of ignorance. I would ask that consideration would be eliminated, although I'm sure it will not, because they are not vulgar, or offensive to any person (its offensive only to persons who are offended by ignorance, which apperently I am).

And the second gentleman, I appriciate your opinion, which was well thought out, and am in no way say that they are ignorant, but I still think the bit that is missing the point of the lens. Sure, you can use Nikon Capture to reduce the fisheye effect, but I feel like why do such a thing. Of course, then you can use it as a standard 16 mm lens (on a D series camera), but in my opinion this would be a tragedy.

This is the fisheye lens for all us DX shooters. I do not regret the fisheye, do not deny the fisheye, do not pretend it's not a fisheye, fisheye embrace.

Exit and take photographs that highlight the fisheye. Learn how the lens works, how the distortion "feels". Harnessing the fisheye. If all you use this lens for a 16 mm (35mm equivalent), lack the most wonderful of this objective.

Anyone who does not understand the allure of the fisheye, here is a tip of the photograph, which used to cost a penny: to find a perch ten or fifteen feet high, has a friend (kids are the best option), and a drink down on them. Will be the deadlock in the image, which will be low in distortion, and shall be entire backyard in the periphery of the injection.

Sure, you could make the shot with a regular 16 mm lens ... but ... how fun would that be?

More than any other drink of your child.
